Job Scope:

The Superintendent reports to the Project Manager and is responsible for the financial, administrative and customer-relations success of the projects to which he or she is assigned. Major objectives include building customer relationships, managing the project within defined profitability and timing parameters, and completing the project to the satisfaction of the customer. Must have a High School diploma and pass a thorough security background check. Pre-employment drug testing is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Five (5) years of construction superintendent experience in a general contractor environment.

· Two (2) years of field supervision is desirable.

· Good ability to manage employees and discipline them when needed.

· Computer skills, including Windows, Word and Excel.

· Must obtain and maintain an OSHA 30 certification, must be certified in First Aid/CPR and any

other certifications as required by OSHA.

· Good interpersonal and oral communication skills. Able to interact with all levels in a positive manner.

relationships with contractors, owners, governmental agencies and other potential

customers or influencers.

Job Duties:

· Delivers daily communication with the assigned project manager and additional “essential” personnel.

concerning performance, process improvements, safety and quality.

· Ensures a safe jobsite with any safety violations being abated immediately.

· Attends the Job Start Meeting with the Project Manager, Estimator, Vice President, President, Comptroller, Safety Coordinator and Project Management Assistant to review and understand the project scope and requirements.

· Understands the cost coding for the project and ensures compliance of field cost reporting to the cost

codes set up in the Accounting system.

· Coordinates the field labor schedules of the construction team. Resolves any scheduling conflicts with the

Project Manager. Coordinate all subcontractors and vendors on the job site.

· Responsible for direct labor productivity and orders materials timely to meet schedule and commitments

for project costs. Reviews the labor status of each project for which he/she has responsibility each week

and presents action plans for meeting or exceeding the project labor anticipated in the original bid.

· Prepares all daily project field reporting. (Time sheets, Purchase Orders, Detailed Daily Reports, Job site

Inspection Checklists, etc.)

· Monitors work performance regarding project specifications and scope of work and takes action to

resolve variances.

· Monitors the progress of the project against the schedule and takes action to resolve project overruns.

· Reviews the financial status of each project monthly and completes the monthly Project Review including estimates of costs to complete the project. Presents action plans for meeting or exceeding the project costs anticipated in the original bid.

· Ensures that change orders are tracked accurately.

· Maintains a willingness to travel for available work.

· Ensures vehicle cleanliness and vehicle maintenance schedules.

· Ensures that the project is properly closed out, including return of materials and rental or owned equipment, schedules inspection certifications.
